It's International Jazz Day at Make My Monday #224 - let's hear it! When I think of jazz, I think of those sultry torch classics, like Aretha, or Billie, or Bessie - total icons! So I went with some "low-down" blue, that is, Pretty Peacock, lol, and pulled out this old fashioned mic from our Rock Star set - I'm so sad this is retiring, but it's perfect for those ladies! I kept it fairly simple, but I couldn't resist adding my sentiment to "Smoky" Slate, lol, and then I finished with a few Faceted Dots from our first run in this color - I couldn't believe I still had some in a drawer! I can't wait to see YOUR jazzy projects, too - meet you at the challenge! Rock Star Stamp Set; Pretty Peacock DSP; Basic White, Basic Black & Smoky Slate CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Pretty Peacock Inks; Smoky Slate Blends Markers; Rock Star & Stylish Shapes Dies; Pretty Peacock Faceted Dots; #MMM224. Check out these gorgeous colors we have at this round's Hand Stamped Sentiments #436! It's so funny, I know I just used this set here, but these colors said "Botanical Layers" to me AGAIN, lol! Something about the play of leaves together with the two fun greens, maybe... Anyway, this is yet another set on the retiring list, and I only JUST got this one when it made our second release of Sale-a-Bration items, lol. Oh well, at least it was free! Anyway, I did a super fussy cut of these leaves to feature with my sentiment, and then I remembered these Foiled Gems in two of our colors - perfect! I can't wait to see what YOU come up with for these colors - meet you at the challenge! Botanical Layers Stamp Set; Pretty Peacock DSP (retired); Basic White & Pretty Peacock CS; Garden Green, Pretty Peacock & Petal Pink Inks; Tasteful Labels Dies (retired); Petal Pink & Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems; #HSS436. We have a sweet spotlight sketch for you all this round at As You See It #320! I get to debut a couple more new things today - so excited! Seaside Wishes is a gorgeous new oceanic bundle coming out in our upcoming Annual Catty, and it has a fabulous hybrid embossing folder and dies, too - these are so cool! Especially since I've learned how to use them better! Lol... Anyway, I thought I'd also sneak in a little bit of a new neutral coming our way: The sand dollar is in our new Basic Beige CS, with Basic Beige ink, too. Looking forward to playing with this more! I can't wait to see YOUR projects with our fun sketch this round, too - meet you at the challenge! Seaside Wishes Stamp Set; By The Shore DSP (retired); Very Vanilla, Mint Macaron (retired); Soft Sea Foam & Basic Beige CS; Basic Beige Ink; Seaside Wishes Hybrid EF & Dies; Gold Iridescent Pastel Gems; #AYSI320. Very sweet - Aloha Friday Challenge #8 would like to see pastels this month! Argh - I struggle with these! Lucky for me, I have a sweet preview set I can use to help me along, and I kept it even simpler by sticking to two colors, lol. Here's a peek at the upcoming Layers of Beauty bundle - which consists of a gorgeous stamp set, dies, AND a set of layering masks to help with the coloring! So fun to dabble with! I did an all-over background in Soft Sea Foam, then went to town on the largest floral image, adding Lemon Lime Twist for my leaves, and layering up Lemon Lolly for my blossoms. I love the subtle shading the masks helped me achieve - can't wait to try this in more coordinating colors! Layers of Beauty Stamp Set; Soft Sea Foam DSP; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Lemon Lime Twist & Lemon Lolly Inks; Blending Brushes; Daffodil Delight Blend Marker; Layers of Beauty Dies; Layers of Beauty Masks; Large Oval Punch (retired); Lemon Lolly Solid Gems; #AFC8. If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #190 has a "thank you" challenge this month! I just received one last little order that I can ink up at last - I finally broke down and got Submarine Life, with its accompanying punch, lol. Just so cute! I also made today's card an homage to our departing In Colors, AND took the chance to also use my Mini Alphabet Dies finally, too! A lot in this one! Anyway, such a cute set, love it, and all the little fishies and configurations, too - truly sublime! Submarine Life Stamp Set; Tahitian Tide & Parakeet Party DSP; Basic White & Sweet Sorbet CS; Orchid Oasis & Starry Sky Inks; Submarine Life Builder Punch; Mini Alphabet & Smooth Sailing (retired) Dies; Orchid Oasis Pearls; #Cookie190. So excited to sneak into this month's NBUS #60 - I always have a little pile of new toys to ink up! Today I decided to break in my new Everyday Details bundle - I knew I was going to end up with this one sooner or later because of the awesome DIES! I paired it with my SAB pack of Softly Stippled, and chose the pretty vase of flowers to highlight - so fun to color, too! Then I cut the panel with one of the accompanying dies - love this pierced border! Can't wait to try the circles, too! I heat-embossed the sentiment to match my background border and finished with a few Pebbled Path Dots - simple and perfect! Everyday Details Stamp Set; Softly Stippled DSP (SAB 2024); Basic White & Pebbled Path CS; Pebbled Path & Versamark Inks; White EP; Wild Wheat, Old Olive, Pool Party & Calypso Coral Blends Markers; Everyday Details Dies; Pebbled Path Dots; #NBUS60. Such a pretty combo at this round's In{k}spire Me #529! It took me a minute to realize - this combo is just MADE for the new Latte Love suite now available! I'm still totally smitten with all of it, so I jumped right in! First up I created a background from one of my favorite sheets from the DSP, love these creamy swirls! Next I decided I wanted to stamp my own cup this time, and I colored it in with Lemon Lolly before stamping this barrista leaf in the center. Since it was just a smidge too small for the sketch, I floated it on a nice Stylish Circle in Calypso, and finished with my sentiment on Lost Lagoon. I even threw on some Cream Swirl Dots for some extra love, lol. This came out interesting, but I think maybe my circle should have been in Early Espresso... Latte Love Stamp Set; A Little Latte DSP; Basic White, Early Espresso, Calypso Coral & Lost Lagoon CS; Early Espresso Ink; Lemon Lolly Blend Marker; Latte Love & Stylish Shapes Dies; Linen Thread; Swirl Dots; #IMC529. We have a lovely off-the-edge sketch for you this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #434! One of those shapes reminded me SO MUCH of one of our stampin' blocks, lol, so I decided to do my background shapes in ALL blocks, lol. I actually don't do this a lot, but it was fun to ink up different ones in different colors! Instead of a floral image, I went with my Botanical Layers set I picked up during Sale-A-Bration - such cool images, though I wish it had dies, lol. I decided to pop up my sentiment on a shape so it didn't get lost in all that green! And I finished with a few Pretty Peacock Tinsel Gems, because these look way more green to me in gem form, lol. I can't wait to see YOUR takes on our fun sketch - meet you at the challenge! Botanical Layers Stamp Set; Basic White & Shaded Spruce CS; Soft Sea Foam, Old Olive, Lemon Lime Twist & Shaded Spruce Inks; Tasteful Labels Dies (retired); Pretty Peacock Tinsel Gems; #HSS434. Wow, check out the photo inspiration at this round's Time Out Challenge #258! What a frog! I think I only have one frog set - 2019's So Hoppy Together, an old Sale-A-Bration set, lol. I ALSO have pieces of the More Than Words set from that year, that had extra sentiments for a few of our fun sets that year - I finally put all the sentiments in the cases of the sets they went with, because I was never remembering to use them! Worked out good for me today, though, lol. So anyway, I colored my little guy like a tree frog, but I might have blown it by putting him on a lily pad, and then I couldn't resist the trio of bugs flying overhead, too, lol, but I think he's still cute! I did resist the little prince's crown I could have put on him, at least! So Hoppy Together & More Than Words Stamp Sets (both retired, 2019); Lemon Lime Twist DSP; Basic White, Granny Apple Green & Lemon Lime Twist CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Poppy Parade, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Hope Around Dies; #TOC258. I had to laugh when I saw the challenge at this round's Shopping Our Stash #516 - "it's not easy being green!" Ain't that the truth! I decided to challenge myself today by sticking to a current stamp set for this one - and somehow the notion of green beer just wouldn't go away, lol. So out came my Brewed For You bundle, and a search for all the green I could find to go with it! I spotted this fun sheet in an old pack of DSP that's visiting right now - Petals & Paisleys! Such pretty stripes! I quick stamped up some toasting brews, and built this sentiment with a quick cut from my old Greetings dies - just right! This DSP is so old, I'm pretty sure that's Certainly Celery, but it still goes great with our stand-by Old Olive! Brewed For You Stamp Set; Petals & Paisleys DSP (retired); Basic White & Old Olive CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Old Olive Inks; Brewed, Delicate Forest & Greetings (retired) Dies; Lemon Lime Twist Tinsel Gems; #SOS516.
